| The Roman cities of Vaison la Romaine and Orange, with their ampitheatres offering spectacular open-air concerts in the summer, are within easy reach. The local town of Nyons is famous for its olives - the olive oil commanding the rare AOC label, whereas Buis les Baronnies, with its charming arcades, is famed as the centre of "tilleul", lime tea. The surrounding fields, hills and mountains offer an endless variety of walks amongst stunning scenery, many providing distant views of the impressive Mont Ventoux to the south, and the high Alps to the north.
